Deborah started her journey in numismatics by answering phones for the world-renowned auction house Bowers & Merena in the 1990’s. During this time, Deborah absorbed everything that she could about collectible coins and worked her way up to the sales director position.
The next big step in Deborah’s numismatic journey was when President Ray Merena asked her to help gather consignments at a convention for their following auction. Even though this was new to her, Deborah brought in over one million dollars in coins for the auction and was made consignment director later that month.
By the 2000’s, Deborah was the only female consignment director at Bowers & Merena. While in that position she was involved in the sale of some of the world’s most historic coins and collections including: the Richard Eliasberg Collection, the Harry W Bass Jr. Collection and The Norweb Collection.
Even though Deborah has been part of numismatic history during her career, when asked what her biggest contribution to the numismatic field is she always says her sons, Travis and Wyatt, fellow founders and current CEO and President of Coinfully.
