Barber Dimes (1892–1916)

Designed by Charles E. Barber, the Barber dimes are known for their classic appearance and were produced at all four U.S. Mints of the time. Collectors often seek:

  • 1894-S Barber dime (one of the rarest U.S. coins, with only 24 minted)

Barber dimes are valued for their simple yet enduring design, with certain rare dates fetching significant premiums.

Mercury Dimes (1916–1945)

Often called Mercury dimes due to the winged cap worn by Liberty, these dimes are among the most beautiful U.S. coins ever minted. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, notable dates include:

  • 1916-D Mercury dime (a key date with a low mintage)
  • 1942/1 Mercury dime (a popular overdate error)

These dimes are prized for their artistic design and are highly collectible, especially in higher grades.

Roosevelt Dimes (1946–Present)

Introduced in 1946 to honor President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Roosevelt dimes have been minted continuously since then. Significant Roosevelt dimes include:

  • 1949-S Roosevelt dime (low mintage year)
  • 1964 Roosevelt dime (last year of 90% silver dimes)

These dimes are still in circulation today, but early silver issues and certain error coins can be valuable to collectors.
