The 1895-S Morgan silver dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, was minted during a period when silver dollar production was tapering off.
The San Francisco Mint was known for producing well-struck coins with excellent luster, but many 1895-S dollars suffered from bag marks due to improper storage.
Despite this, collectors can find well-preserved coins with minimal markings, though such examples are considered rare, particularly in higher Mint State grades.
